Delayed Egress Door in London
Delayed Egress Door Installation – London
Even during challenging operating conditions, Ace Door Systems continues to support essential sectors, ensuring safety, security and uninterrupted operation. Our dedicated engineering team recently completed the installation of a delayed egress door system for a food retail facility in London, helping maintain the integrity of the supply chain and ensuring a safe environment for staff and customers.
The client required enhanced security measures to deter unauthorised exit and reduce losses caused by theft, while still maintaining full compliance with fire and emergency safety regulations. A delayed egress solution was specified, incorporating an integrated alarm and timed-release functionality. This system activates an audible alarm and initiates a controlled time delay before the door unlocks, preventing immediate exit and providing staff with valuable response time should an attempted theft occur.
The installation was carried out efficiently and with minimal disruption to operations, ensuring continuous access to the facility throughout the process. All safety features were fully tested, and staff received training on the system’s operation and emergency override procedures.
Delayed egress doors are increasingly used within retail and food environments where loss prevention and controlled movement are critical, while still maintaining safe evacuation capability in the event of an emergency. This project demonstrates our ability to deliver practical, compliant security enhancements tailored to site-specific challenges.
