Speedflex Doors Installation

Speedflex High-Performance Door Installation at ASDA Hayle

Ace Door Systems has recently completed the installation of a set of Speedflex high-performance doors at the ASDA store in Hayle, located near Land’s End in Cornwall. The upgrade was commissioned to replace an ageing set of PVC strip curtains that were no longer providing an effective barrier against changing weather conditions, temperature loss or pest ingress. In a busy supermarket environment where hygiene control and energy efficiency are critical, a more robust and reliable solution was essential.

The newly installed Speedflex doors offer significant improvements in access control, operational speed and environmental separation. Their rapid opening and closing mechanism helps maintain internal temperatures, reducing heat escape and improving energy performance across chilled or ambient product areas. This is particularly important in coastal locations where high winds and fluctuating external conditions can create challenges in maintaining stable internal environments.

In addition to improved climate control, the new doors provide a highly effective barrier against pests and airborne contaminants, supporting strict food safety standards and reducing the risk of contamination. Their durable construction ensures excellent resistance to frequent use, making them ideally suited for high-traffic back-of-house areas where staff and equipment such as trolleys and pallet trucks are constantly moving.

The installation was completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to store operations, allowing ASDA to continue trading without operational inconvenience. The store has already reported enhanced workflow efficiency and greatly improved environmental control since the upgrade.
