Bespoke Eight-Metre Gate Fabrication for Colchester Site

The fabrication team at our Nelson workshop has once again demonstrated exceptional engineering capability with the manufacture of a bespoke gate exceeding eight metres in length. This custom built gate has been produced to replace a previously installed cantilever gate that sustained significant structural damage following a collision involving a heavy goods vehicle. Rather than carrying out a temporary repair, the client required a durable long term replacement engineered to withstand demanding operational use and protect site security.

Designed and manufactured from scratch by our in-house specialists, the new gate has been precision fabricated to exact site measurements, ensuring seamless integration into the existing gate support structure. Using high-strength steel box section framework and reinforced weld construction, the gate is built to deliver maximum rigidity, smooth movement and long service life in a high-traffic industrial environment.

Prior to installation, the gate will undergo a full surface preparation process and be professionally sprayed in white at our workshop facility. The powder coated finish provides enhanced corrosion resistance and protection against weathering, which is particularly important for exposed locations. It also delivers a clean, professional appearance that supports site branding and the customer’s aesthetic requirements.

Once completed, the gate will be transported to Colchester and installed by our specialist engineering team, ensuring full alignment, safety testing and smooth commissioning. The new system will restore secure vehicle access control at the site and significantly improve performance and reliability compared to the damaged unit.
